We were incredibly proud to represent the vibrant vertical farming sector at this year’s Farm to Fork Showcase at 10 Downing Street. It was fantastic to see so many British food producers join forces to celebrate the industry and bring to the forefront the issues the industry faces.
With food security vital to our national security, we will continue to work closely with key figures in the civil service within DEFRA, as well as industry bodies such as NFU, to help us amplify the value of vertical farming to the broader farming industry, as well as working to remove barriers to progress, such as planning permission and grid access.
It was reassuring to see that the need to focus on reducing reliance on overseas fruit and vegetables was heard loud and clear by ministers and media in attendance.
