Fischer Farms chive production showcased across the BBC
We were incredibly proud to see Fischer Farms front and centre on the future of vertical farming across the BBC’s news coverage over the past week.
It was great to be able to showcase our chive production at our Norwich facility, with coverage across the BBC’s Look East, Radio Norfolk, the BBC website and finally making national news on BBC Breakfast. Nearly 10 million kilos of chives are imported into the UK each year. Vertical farming gives customers access to high-quality produce, grown in a climate-controlled environment, all year round, slashing food miles and reducing reliance on overseas imports from countries as far away as Kenya. What’s more, vertical farms use a fraction of the land required for field grown crops and our closed loop irrigation system means our operations also uses less water.
