Fischer Farms appoints leading plant scientist to support R&D strategy
Fischer Farms has appointed leading CEA plant scientist, Dr Phillip Davis, as the firm continues to invest in pioneering R&D activity.
Dr Davis, who brings over 12 years’ of experience in the vertical farming industry, will take on the role of NPD and Innovation manager.
With a speciality in plant physiology, Dr Davis joins Fischer Farms from Perfectly Fresh, where he was Science Director for almost six years. He has significant experience in commercial horticulture and will add a wealth of technical and agronomic expertise to the team at Fischer Farms.
Dr Davis’ appointment will enable Fischer Farms to further progress their R&D activities and continue their trials in soft fruits and wheat.
Last year, Fischer Farms revealed their first trial of growing wheat has been highly successful, making them the first vertical farm in the UK to cultivate the crop in a biosecure, controlled environment. To find out more about this, click here.
