Best Sustainable Land Use award for Fischer Farms
We’re delighted to have received an award for Best Sustainable Land Use at the inaugural Norfolk Rural Business Awards.
The awards were launched by Norfolk County Council, in partnership with the Royal Norfolk Agricultural Association (RNAA), to celebrate the achievements of rural businesses and entrepreneurs in the county.
Chris Starkie, director of growth and investment at Norfolk County Council, said: “The Norfolk Rural Business Awards has given us the opportunity to celebrate the outstanding achievements of these businesses and their contribution to our county,”
RNAA managing director Mark Nicholas added: “We know that successful rural communities need support and recognition, and that job creation and employment is at the heart of our thriving villages. The winners of this year’s awards showcase what is possible when entrepreneurs and business leaders set up businesses across Norfolk.”
Tristan Fischer, Founder of Fischer Farms, said: “We are incredibly proud to be part of the local agricultural community and as champions of sustainable farming, it’s an honour to receive recognition for our vertical farm in Norwich. “Our 4-acre farm is a highly productive use of land, delivering significantly greater yields than traditional methods. Our closed-loop systems means we leave a minimal ecological footprint whilst maximising output of delicious, nutritious fresh produce. “A big thank you to the judges and of course our brilliant team, who are all committed to responsible, sustainable and productive farming.”
