Established by green energy expert, Tristan Fischer, we began operations in a shipping container in 2017, growing short leafy greens.
Our first vertical farm opened in 2019 in Burton-on-Trent, providing 3,200 m2 of growing space - one of the largest vertical farms in the UK. The facility produces a wide range of short leaf products, such as rocket, via a stacked, biosecure, climate-controlled and fully automated system. It is also our dedicated R&D facility.
In 2023, we started commercial production at our new farm in Norfolk – one of the world’s largest vertical farms. The 4-acre site, situated at The Food Enterprise Park in Norwich, houses 25,000m2 of vertically stacked growing space, providing enough capacity to supply 6.5 tonnes of leaf salad, herbs and other fresh produce every day.
As we scale up the production of salads and herbs significantly, our long-term plan is to expand into other crops, including soft fruit, rice, wheat, soy and peas.
